ICAP-SIRA and Ecology: new biotechnological water purification system.
The new system of biological water purification is already operative in production Unit 1 in Parabiago (Milan).
In a short while also production Unit 2 in Barberino del Mugello (Florence) will be provided with a similar system. The removal of the polluting agents is made by bacteria that use, for its metabolism, dissolved or suspended substances in waters to be treated.
In the biomass which develops inside the purification basins, besides the bacteria, also other micro organisms are present with several kinds of algae, protozoan, mushrooms and yeasts.
The system consists of 3800 m2 biologically activate surface which is equivalent to about five tennis courts.
This system, thanks to the Company’s attention towards the environment, has allowed the ICAP-SIRA Group to improve sensitively the water purification system’s reliability.
