In the ICAP-SIRA production unit of Parabiago logistic handlings are automated. Automatic trucks (Self Guided Vehicles) remove the pallets of finished products from an accumulation line and take them directly to the chosen warehouse area. These vehicles, furnished with intelligent terminals, are connected by radio to the computer-logistics system, run by just one operator, who programmes the missions, optimizes the route, takes care of the system diagnostics and monitors all operations in real time.

The same vehicles also remove the pallets with raw materials and semi-processed products from the warehouse and take them to the various production units, according to the daily or requested scheduling programmes.

In the Barberino di Mugello location a state-of-the-art computer system manages all aspects of production, and interventions can be carried out both on quantity and quality parameters, with a continuous exchange of information between the process computer and the management computer.

The system, made up of a control unit which elaborates the 4 main production lines, answers to a supervising unit which runs the functions relating to the various production batches, the writing up of the batch report and which also controls all the alarms of the plant.

This system is connected to the management computer network in Parabiago, solving all kinds of company inter-communication. In this way we have obtained operative flexibility, quality control and global monitoring in real time, all this being more than adequate for the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 quality certificate.
